"We wanted to make the brilliance of Edo cut glass even more beautiful."

The appeal of cut glass lies in the expressions of light and shadow created by its delicate cuts. We wondered if there was a way to further enjoy this beauty. By leveraging our long-cultivated chemical etching technology, we developed a coaster that harmonizes with the glass and orchestrates light. Our goal was to create new tableware that allows for a richer enjoyment of the brilliance, color, and light-born expressions of cut glass.

1. Delicate pattern expression created by the power of chemistry

Chemical etching is a technology that precisely processes metal using chemicals. It enables smooth, delicate expressions that are difficult to achieve with physical cutting tools, creating unique shadows and textures on the metal surface. In this product, we have utilized this characteristic to express delicate patterns symbolizing Japan's four seasons: "Sakura," "Fireworks," "Autumn Leaves," and "Snowflakes." By harmonizing with the light expressions created by the glass cuts, the design allows the respective charms of metal and glass to resonate with each other.

2. Bringing the brilliance of the showroom to your dining table

Cut glass often appears more impressive in display spaces due to mirror effects and other lighting techniques. Therefore, this product combines mirror-finished stainless steel with etching processing to achieve a beautiful contrast created by light reflection and shadow. It gently reflects the color and brilliance of the glass while adorning everyday table scenes.

3. Transforming "drinking" into a time to savor light

As light passing through the glass overlaps with the seasonal patterns engraved on the coaster, seasonal scenery emerges through the glass. It creates a scene as if the four seasons were captured within the glass.
