DIY PARK, operated by Hatano Construction Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Konan City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director: Tomoaki Hatano, hereinafter Hatano Construction), which has been building homes for 113 years in Konan City, Aichi Prefecture, will hold a special sale event for custom-made children's furniture and toys made from scrap materials generated at its own construction sites, starting on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Background of the Event: What would be thrown away becomes lifelong memories when utilized

"Construction scrap" is inevitably generated during the construction of homes and stores. However, these are mostly high-quality wood such as solid wood. The desire of staff members to "breathe new life into this wood" led to the start of toy production at DIY PARK. Wood from local construction sites is used by children growing up in the same region. Through this "regional circulation" initiative, we deliver rich experiences of interacting with wood to the children who will lead the future.

Additionally, within DIY PARK, there is a facility called "KIDS PARK" where children can play with wooden toys made by the staff. It is used by many as a private "wood education" facility where parents and children can touch wood. (Recent results: 786 groups in 2024, 1,025 groups in 2025)

All production staff at DIY PARK have parenting experience. Based on their real experiences of "wanting to let my own children safely use it" and "as a parent, I wanted such toys," each item is handmade. We deliver safe products with attention to smooth texture and rounded corners.

Goal 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production": Upcycling scrap into toys and furniture instead of disposal. We also offer a "Annual Scrap Usage Service (¥3,000 tax included)" for DIY enthusiasts, promoting effective resource utilization. Currently used by over 65 people cumulatively.

Goal 15 "Life on Land": Passing on a culture of carefully using limited forest resources to the next generation.
