Initiative for the Sajigawa Small Hydropower Project in Sajicho, Tottori City (Decarbonization Leading Region)

Tottori Bank (Head Office: 171 Eirakuonsen-cho, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture; President: Itaru Irie), which operates as a financial institution primarily in the San'in region centered in Tottori Prefecture, and Mori to Mizu no Chikara Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 1118 Shinju, Shimoichi-cho, Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture; Representative Director: Ryuzo Kaimoto), which handles small-scale hydropower projects nationwide, have jointly decided to proceed with a small-scale hydropower project in the Sajigawa River in Sajicho, Tottori City.

Background of the Project

This project was selected as a power generation business operator by a consortium of Mori to Mizu no Chikara and Tottori Bank in response to a PFI project publicly solicited by Tottori City, which was selected as a 'Decarbonization Leading Region' by the Ministry of the Environment. To implement the project, a special purpose company, 'Sajigawa Small Hydropower Co., Ltd.', was jointly established as the power generation business operator. Sajigawa Small Hydropower Co., Ltd. concluded a business agreement with Tottori City and a cooperation agreement regarding the Tottori City Decarbonization Leading Region Development Project in March 2026.
