KHB Tohoku Broadcasting (headquartered in Taihaku-ku, Sendai) will launch a revamped edition of its Sunday evening news and information program, “Sunday Charge! & Sports,” starting July 5 (Sun).

Professional baseball commentator Shintaro Ejiri and KHB announcer Hiroyuki Kumagai will continue to appear regularly on the program. Joining them as a new regular member is Yumeno Nagai, who became part of the KHB team this past spring. The program’s logo has also been updated, aligning with the April 2024 refresh of the “Charge!” branding to better reflect the concept of charging up with information.

“Sunday Charge! & Sports” delivers live, dynamic coverage of the moment on Sunday evenings, featuring local news, passionate weekend sports commentary, the latest weather forecasts, and live reports from trending locations across Miyagi Prefecture.

The program also presents “Shukan Miyagi (Weekly Miyagi),” summarizing the top news topics of the week based on KHB’s website access rankings, along with seasonal spot and gourmet recommendations—providing viewers with useful information to kick off their week.
