Second Self-Cover Album "WARRIORS -男闘呼組 SELF COVERS- Rockon Social Club" by "男闘呼組" to be Released!

Rockon Social Club, a rock band affiliated with Tokyo Records Inc., has announced the release of their new album, "WARRIORS -男闘呼組 SELF COVERS- Rockon Social Club".

Rockon Social Club, consisting of Narita Shōji, Okamoto Kenichi, Takahashi Kazuya, and Maeda Kōyō from the legendary reunited and disbanded group 男闘呼組, along with producer/guitarist Teraoka Yōto and drummer Aoyama Hideki, will release their second self-cover album of 男闘呼組's songs.

The album will feature a total of 32 tracks, including "DAYBREAK," "Aki" (Autumn), and "Fūryō" (Delinquent), selected based on requests from premium members of the Rockon Social Club app, along with 30 other songs. It will also include the new Rockon Social Club song "The Warriors" and "Love Survivor," the CM song for KURE 5-56's new TV commercial "Fist of the North Star: The Door That Won't Open"篇.

"WARRIORS -男闘呼組 SELF COVERS- Rockon Social Club" is a concept album where Rockon Social Club reinterprets numerous songs from their past through their accumulated experience and current expressive power, offering a fresh perspective. While respecting the original vocal arrangements and instrumentation as much as possible, they imbue the songs with new life, adding a depth and conviction that can only be achieved now. The title "WARRIORS" embodies the spirit of those who continue to walk their path with their own beliefs, overcoming numerous crossroads. Times have changed, and the ways we listen to music and live our lives have drastically transformed. Yet, everyone continues to navigate their own lives, confronting realities that don't go as planned and unexpected events. That is precisely why we believe there is meaning in delivering this album now.

In their youth, they sang about "fighting." Now, they sing about "continuing to fight."

"WARRIORS -男闘呼組 SELF COVERS- Rockon Social Club" is not a look back at the past, but a present-progressing album delivered by Rockon Social Club, who have lived through time, to all "WARRIORS" living today.

Recording 30 cover songs by 男闘呼組.

As soon as the recording began, it turned into a "live" recording session.

We recorded the performances and vocals one after another, like a live show, to maintain freshness without taking too much time.

Therefore, although it's a self-cover album, it should have the tension of a live album.

While confronting the past songs, I felt the members' love and resolve for 男闘呼組 as they etched their "present" voices and performances, and I felt their determination to create a work that wouldn't shame their past selves and wouldn't betray the fans' feelings for the songs.

For the self-cover album of 男闘呼組's songs by Rockon Social Club, following 男闘呼組's disbandment in August 2023, I decided to leave the selection of songs to record from over 100 tracks to the fans who support us.

All of 男闘呼組's songs are about 30 years old, but re-recording them with our current selves was harder than I imagined.

As I desperately played and sang along to the members' music, immersing myself in the world of the song before me, there were many moments when the boundaries between the past and present, 男闘呼組 and Rockon Social Club, disappeared, and various stories and scenes emerged within the music.

They are all masterpieces, so any song is great on its own, but listening to the whole album feels like a grand drama unfolds in your mind.

Additional performances for the national tour starting in September decided!

Furthermore, additional performances have been decided for Rockon Social Club's national tour "KURE 5-56 Presents Rockon Social Club Tour 2026 WARRIORS," which will kick off on September 3, 2026 (Thu) at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo.

Including 11 additional performances, such as the first solo performance at Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater for Rockon Social Club, the tour will consist of a total of 22 performances.
