Meiji Yasuda General Insurance Research Institute and Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company have been conducting joint research since 2022 with the Okuno Laboratory at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, within the framework of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) COI-NEXT program, promoted by Hirosaki University.
From fiscal 2026, the partners will expand the research structure and themes utilizing advanced technologies such as health/medical big data analysis and AI to further deepen their collaboration. This will strengthen the 'Ken-katsu Project' and 'Local Vitality Project' promoted by Meiji Yasuda, aiming to create new value for improving QOL tailored to individual health conditions and to maintain and promote the physical and mental health of regional communities through expanded health checkup events.
1. Future Joint Research Themes (Scheduled) From fiscal 2026, research will be expanded focusing on: - Research on models predicting future health conditions: Development of prediction models estimating future health status and risks using health examination results and lifestyle data. - Research on upgrading QOL checkups: Research into mechanisms to enhance health awareness effects through prioritizing measurement items and predicting future health based on measurement results. - Research on developing 'Health Advice AI': Development of advice content that supports lifestyle improvements and encourages health checkups according to individual health awareness and status.
2. Promotion Structure These initiatives will be promoted based at the Hirosaki University COI-NEXT and the 'Meiji Yasuda × Hirosaki Univ. QOL Co-Creation Research Center' established on April 1, 2025.
