7th Yashio City Slipper Table Tennis Tournament to be Held on July 20, 2026

Table Tennis House 840 Inc. will hold the 7th Yashio City Slipper Table Tennis Tournament at Eight Arena (Tsurugasone Gymnasium) in Saitama on July 20, 2026. Instead of standard rackets, participants will use slippers to hit the ball, making it difficult to generate spin or speed. This unique twist narrows the skill gap, allowing complete beginners and experienced players, spanning from children to seniors, to enjoy the sport together. The tournament serves as a community exchange event designed to promote health, communication, and smiles among families, friends, and residents. Participation costs 500 yen per pair, and is open to teams of two (elementary school age and above). It features multiple divisions including Enjoy (for beginners, 7-point games), Handicap, and Expert (for experienced players, 11-point games). Applications are accepted via LINE until June 30, 2026. Through this event, Table Tennis House 840 aims to spread the joy of table tennis and foster local connections, striving to make Yashio a 'Table Tennis City.'
