Chiba Cari Inc. (Headquarters: Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, President: Tsuyoshi Tanemura), which operates the Chiba-specific job site 'Chiba Cari,' conducted a survey on the reality and awareness of job change activities targeting 533 job seekers aged 22-49 residing in Chiba Prefecture.
The survey investigated reasons for job changes, conditions prioritized when choosing where to apply, methods used for job searching, AI utilization status, and preferences regarding industry/job type of the next workplace. Amidst ongoing severe labor shortages for small and medium-sized enterprises, we wish to assist Chiba companies as much as possible and are therefore releasing an overview of the survey results (points useful for Chiba companies' recruitment).

【Key Survey Findings】
Point 1: Common Reasons for Job Change
'Salary' is the most frequent reason for job change. 'Long Commute Time' is also notable among those wishing to work in Chiba.
Nationwide, 'low salary' was the most cited reason for considering a job change, at 43.3%. Even among those who wish to work in Chiba, it was the highest at 45.6%, indicating a strong interest in salary across all groups.
On the other hand, 21.0% of those wishing to work in Chiba cited 'long commute time' as a reason for job change, more than double the 9.9% of those who do not wish to work in Chiba. The ability to commute without difficulty within the local area appears to be one of the important motivations for job change among those who want to work in Chiba.
Point 2: Criteria for Choosing Where to Apply
In addition to 'salary, job content, and work location,' 'number of holidays' is also highly valued.
Among those wishing to work in Chiba, the top three factors prioritized when choosing a company to apply to were 'salary' (69.9%), 'job content' (61.6%), and 'work location' (61.0%). 'Number of holidays' also ranked high at 50.6%. This shows a stronger interest in the number of holidays compared to the 38.6% of those who do not wish to work in Chiba. For job postings, it is important to comprehensively and clearly indicate specific information about working styles, not just salary and work location, but also annual holidays, days of the week off, overtime hours, and the status and ease of taking paid leave.
Point 3: Job Search Media Used
'Job sites' are central to job searching activities. Hello Work also holds a significant presence.
Among those wishing to work in Chiba, 'job sites' were the most used method for job searching activities, accounting for 55.0%. This was followed by 'recruitment agencies (agents)' at 27.9%, 'scouts' at 22.4%, and 'Hello Work' at 19.3%. While the use of agents and scouts is increasing, for the segment wishing to work in Chiba, local-contact points such as job sites and Hello Work are likely to remain effective.
Point 4: AI Utilization Status in the Workplace
In workplaces of those working in Chiba, 'AI is almost not introduced' at 34.8%
Regarding the introduction of AI in the workplace, 34.8% of respondents working in Chiba answered that 'AI is almost not introduced in the workplace,' significantly higher than the 16.8% of those working in Tokyo.
On the other hand, the response 'AI has reduced workload and made work easier' was 8.3% for those working in Chiba, compared to 19.2% for those working in Tokyo.
Companies that work on improving operational efficiency and reducing overtime by utilizing AI in the future may be able to appeal this as a concrete factor demonstrating ease of work in their recruitment activities.
Point 5: Many in Chiba are Not Particular About Job Type
Those wishing to work in Chiba prioritize 'work location' and are relatively flexible about job type.
Regarding the job type of their next workplace, 21.0% of those wishing to work in Chiba stated 'it's okay if it's the same or a different job type,' which is higher than the 13.5% of those who do not wish to work in Chiba.
Furthermore, a higher tendency was observed among those wishing to work in Chiba for the response 'it's okay if it's the same or a different industry.' It is thought that there is a certain number of people who prioritize being able to work in Chiba and are relatively flexible regarding industry and job type.
For companies looking to hire individuals without prior experience, providing concrete information such as records of job changes from different industries/job types, training systems, post-hire support structures, and examples of successful employees can lead to increased applications.
◆ Message from the Representative
As recruitment activities become more challenging, it is crucial for companies to convey specific information that job seekers truly want to know.
This survey revealed that in addition to a high interest in salary, those who wish to work in Chiba tend to prioritize conditions directly related to daily life, such as commute time, number of holidays, and overtime hours.
Of course, if there are issues such as few holidays or long overtime hours, improvements to the system and working style itself are necessary. On the other hand, many companies are not sufficiently communicating their existing environmental improvements in their job postings, even though they have already been made. It is important to carefully present information that job seekers can easily use for decision-making, such as annual holidays, average overtime hours, paid leave usage status, and examples of flexible work arrangements.
Furthermore, while people who want to work in Chiba prioritize work location, they tend to be relatively flexible regarding industry and job type. This means that recruitment competitors are not limited to companies in the same industry. Therefore, it is important to organize the appeal of working at your company, clarify who you want to hire, and then translate this into job information.
Chiba Cari will work alongside Chiba Prefecture companies in their recruitment activities by having our sales and production teams collaborate to thoroughly explore the appeal and recruitment challenges of each company.
