Propt Announces User-Participatory Fraud Detection Service Offering Rewards for Transaction History Verification

This service leverages transaction notifications to allow users to verify whether a payment was made by them. Similar functionality is available in transaction statements for retroactive batch verification. By providing rewards such as points for verifying transactions, the service encourages continuous usage monitoring and responses. These user responses are integrated into the fraud detection system.

This provides users with peace of mind while using cashless payments and enables payment providers to improve the accuracy of their fraud detection. Propt aims to contribute to a safer and more convenient cashless society by delivering value to both parties.

While this release focuses on card payments, the service is applicable to a wide range of cashless payment methods.

Challenges with Existing Fraud Detection Systems

As cashless payments expand, incidents of fraud are rising. Although credit card companies strive to improve their detection systems, losses due to fraud remain high.
Current systems focus on functioning during the authorization process. If fraud is not detected at this stage, it bypasses the card company's measures. Missed fraudulent transactions must then be detected by users checking notifications or statements. If both the card company and the user fail to notice the fraud, the transaction may not be compensated, and the victim bears the loss.

Key Features of the New Service

To address these issues, Propt has designed a service that encourages users to check transaction status through rewards. The service features a button on transaction notifications asking users if they made the payment. By getting users to respond, the system confirms whether the transaction was authorized. Even if notifications are missed, users can verify via their statements, where unverified transactions are visualized, eliminating oversight. When suspicious transactions are found, users can request an investigation seamlessly within the notification or statement screen. This maintains a unified flow, enhancing the user experience compared to traditional channels like support websites or phone calls.
