Proas Partners with NTT Precision Medicine to Alleviate Burden of Complex Home Healthcare Billing Operations

Proas Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Representative Director: Yasumitsu Ito) and NTT Precision Medicine, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Koushi Korekawa, hereinafter "NTTPM") have entered into a business partnership agreement in March 2026, aiming to improve service value and expand business for clinics providing home healthcare services.

Through this partnership, we will strengthen the integration between NTTPM's home healthcare-compatible electronic health record "movacal.net" (hereinafter "Movacal Net") and Proas's home healthcare support service "Cocomedica," and sequentially roll out new integrated services from July 2026 onwards.

◾️Social Background: Expanding Demand for Home Healthcare and Reform of Physician Working Styles

With the advancement of a super-aged society, the number of home healthcare patients nationwide is expected to continue increasing in many regions, peaking around 2040 (Note 1). On the other hand, the medical field continues to face chronic labor shortages. The "Reform of Physician Working Styles" enforced in recent years has imposed limits on overtime work for physicians and medical staff. As a result, the burden tends to concentrate on clinic directors, administrative managers, and some staff, making improvements to the working environment and task shifting an urgent issue (Note 2).

Especially in home visiting medical care, administrative tasks such as responding to increasingly complex medical fee revisions and preparing cumbersome billing statements (medical expense receipts), in addition to travel time, pose a significant burden on clinics. How to create an environment where medical institutions can promote task shifting and focus on "original care" facing patients is a critical issue for the entire industry.
