Starting a New Challenge

On May 26, the Prestige International Aranmare women's volleyball team held a press conference at the Akita Prefectural Office. During the event, the team unveiled its new name, emblem, and slogan, marking the start of its full-scale operations in its new hometowns of Akita City and Katagami City.

Background and Objectives

Makoto Sato, General Manager of the First Division, explained that Akita was selected as the new home to meet the new SV League standards and support the team's sustainable growth. He expressed his determination to boost the top-tier sports culture in the 'Sports Prefecture Akita.' Sakata City, Yamagata, where the team was previously based, is now designated as the 'Mother Town.'

Regional Co-creation Initiatives

The team aims not only to compete but also to inspire children, promote local attractions, and create excitement through sports. The new arena, scheduled for completion in 2028, is expected to become a new symbol of Akita.

New Head Coach Appointment

In the second part of the event, new head coach Christian Mihailov held his inaugural press conference. He shared his commitment to playing 'fast and beautiful volleyball' and delivering victories to fans.
