Nifco Inc. (Headquarters: Yokosuka, Kanagawa) has developed and launched the "One-touch fastening shielding plate for aiming reflectors" for SUBARU vehicles. This product has been adopted as an official SUBARU maintenance improvement tool.
With the increasing adoption of advanced safety systems, millimeter-wave radar calibration (aiming) has become crucial for vehicle safety. Metal objects such as reflector stands can cause electromagnetic noise, leading to inaccurate readings during calibration. Previously, SUBARU instructed maintenance shops to attach wood to metal stands to prevent noise, but this required different pieces of wood for different vehicle heights and was time-consuming to mount and remove.
Nifco solved this by combining its proprietary electromagnetic wave absorption panel technology with its core fastening expertise. The new shielding plate features a resin clamp on the back, allowing for one-touch attachment and detachment to metal stands. Furthermore, the clamp provides appropriate tension, enabling mechanics to adjust the reflector's height even while the plate is attached.
Key Features: - Electromagnetic absorption performance of -20dB or more in the 76-81GHz frequency band. - High absorption performance in both vertical and diagonal directions through optimized material and shape. - Made of flexible material (olefin elastomer) for easy handling and safety. - Resin clamp designed for metal stand pole diameters enables one-touch operation. - Allows height adjustment while attached.
Sales to SUBARU dealers commenced on May 14. Nifco continues to focus on social issues and safe mobility through innovative solutions in both automotive parts and the aftermarket.
