Seibu Shibuya Announces Limited Edition 'Mochinyan' x 'Wang Mama Bakery' Pineapple Cake Collaboration

From July 1 (Wed) to August 3 (Mon), 2026, Seibu Shibuya A-Building will host the 'Summer! Sea! Mochinyan Summer Festival' on the second-floor event space. The event will feature a collaboration with popular Taiwanese confectionery 'Wang Mama Bakery,' offering their 'Old-Fashioned Pineapple Cake' in exclusive event-limited packaging.

Wang Mama Bakery began as a small town bakery founded by 'Wang Mama,' who traveled to France after turning 60 to study pastry arts at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu. By fusing French pastry techniques with traditional Taiwanese cakes, the shop gained significant attention. Since 1995, it has been supported by notable celebrities in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Known for its rustic, elegant flavor that highlights the quality of its ingredients, it is highly popular as a Taiwanese souvenir and has gained many enthusiastic fans through word-of-mouth in Japan.

Mochinyan and Wang Mama Bakery have previously launched numerous collaboration products centered in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and continue to receive support from fans today, including a special package version themed after Paris, France.

■ Event-Limited Design Packaging

For the 'Summer! Sea! Mochinyan Summer Festival,' the packaging adopts a golden base color reminiscent of pineapple and baked goods. The design features illustrations of Mochinyan characters playing energetically in nature, creating a summer-like, elegant aesthetic.

However, the greatest appeal of this product lies beyond its packaging.

Wang Mama Bakery's 'Old-Fashioned Pineapple Cake' is handmade one by one, adhering to carefully selected ingredients and the traditional methods of both France and Taiwan. Unlike the recent trend of pineapple cakes with strong jam-like textures, it preserves the traditional flavor beloved in Taiwan for many years.

The exquisite balance between the fragrant filling and the melt-in-the-mouth pastry has often led people to remark that it 'changed their concept of pineapple cakes.'
