Denwa Bangou" (Tell Me Your Phone Number!), released in February, recorded a personal best of over 300,000 cumulative units shipped, surpassing 338,000 units to date. In March, they successfully held their long-awaited 4th-anniversary concert, "≒JOY 4th ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT," at Nippon Budokan, marking a period of great progress for ≒JOY.
Their highly anticipated 5th single is set for release on August 5th (Wed), and today, the music video for its title track, "Summer Twintail," has been unveiled.
The new song "Summer Twintail" is a heart-pounding summer song that ≒JOY presents this summer, with Kanoa Amano and Ayumi Ichihara serving as double centers.
The music video is set in a rural town and incorporates elements of quirky sci-fi films, with a story about a girl with twintails in uniform connecting with space, creating a cute and summery work. It features expressive shots of the members, lip-sync scenes, and grand dance sequences, with the fantastical sight of girls with twintails gathering on a rooftop to communicate with space being a particular highlight.

≒JOY is the third group formed by Rino Sashihara, following =LOVE (Equal Love) and ≠ME (Not Equal Me), created with the aim of producing her ideal idol group. The final auditions were held on January 30th, 2022, and on March 29th, 2022, Rino Sashihara herself announced the group's name as ≒JOY along with the members' debut. In September 2023, they held their 1st concert "Hajimemashite, ≒JOY desu." (Nice to Meet You, We are ≒JOY.) at Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall, and from December 2023 to January 2024, they held their first tour ≒JOY 1st Tour "Absolute," which was a great success. On January 17th, they released their debut mini-album "Kitto, Zettai, Zettai" (Surely, Absolutely, Definitely). (It ranked #1 on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart and Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales. It surpassed 100,000 cumulative units shipped on its release day.) In February 2024, they held the ≒JOY 2nd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT at Tokyo International Forum Hall A, attracting approximately 8,000 attendees to commemorate their 2nd anniversary. In June, they released their highly anticipated 1st single "Taiikukan Disco" (Gymnasium Disco). (It ranked #1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart and Billboard JAPAN Top Singles Sales. Achieving #1 on Oricon for both their 1st album and 1st single was a feat not seen by a female artist in about 2.5 years.) In October, they released their 2nd single "Hatsukoi Cinderella" (First Love Cinderella), which also ranked #1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart and Billboard JAPAN Top Singles Sales. In March 2025, they held the ≒JOY 3rd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, their largest venue to date, to celebrate their 3rd anniversary. On June 11th, they released their 3rd single "Blue Hawaii Lemon." The music video for "Blue Hawaii Lemon" has garnered over 5.64 million views, a personal best, and streaming numbers have exceeded 12.5 million.
Starting in August, they held the ≒JOY National Tour 2025 "Our moon is getting full," concluding the tour with great success at Ariake Arena in Tokyo in November.
On February 18th, 2026, they released their highly anticipated 4th single "Oshiete! Denwa Bangou" (Tell Me Your Phone Number!), which has recorded cumulative shipments exceeding 330,000 units, a personal best.
On March 13th, 2026, they held the ≒JOY 4th ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT at Nippon Budokan, attracting approximately 20,000 attendees over two performances, and the ≒JOY National Tour 2026 "Kono Natsu Zenbu Zenbu Boku ni Kudasai" (This Summer, Give It All to Me) was also announced.
