Super Appli Inc. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director: Masaki Iinuma, hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has partnered with H.I.S. Mobile Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku City, Tokyo, hereinafter "HIS Mobile") to begin offering dedicated communication SIM cards, Wi-Fi routers, and pre-configuration kitting services for facilities adopting the IoT service "Mana System®" for land-based aquaculture and hydroponics, starting July 1, 2026.
"Mana System" is an IoT service that supports remote monitoring and management of various environmental data in land-based aquaculture and hydroponic cultivation sites. It can also be utilized in aquaponics facilities that produce fish and vegetables simultaneously, supporting visualization of complex production sites.
IoT Service "Mana System®" for Land-Based Aquaculture and Hydroponics
Main Benefits of Implementing Mana System
The following main benefits can be expected from implementation:
1. Early Detection of Environmental Changes By continuously acquiring data such as water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), and temperature/humidity, changes in the growth environment of fish and plants can be detected early. In land-based aquaculture, in particular, delays in responding to water quality or equipment abnormalities can lead to fish deaths or poor growth. Mana System helps to identify early signs of such abnormalities and supports decision-making.
2. Reduced Burden of On-site Checks and Recording
Facility status can be checked from PCs, smartphones, and tablets, allowing information that was previously only available by visiting the site to be grasped remotely. For example, a facility that performs on-site checks and recording twice a day, each taking about 15 to 30 minutes, incurs approximately 15 to 30 hours of checking and recording work per month by simple calculation. Mana System can reduce the burden of on-site work and improve the efficiency of managing multiple locations by replacing some of these tasks with remote checks.
3. Building an Operational System That Doesn't Rely Solely on Experience and Intuition
In aquaculture and hydroponics, grasping subtle changes in water quality is crucial. Mana System continuously accumulates and visualizes various data, moving management that tends to depend on the experience of skilled individuals towards more reproducible operations.
4. Reduced Effort for Sensor Calibration – Regular Provision of Calibrated Sensors
With a system that regularly delivers calibrated high-precision sensors, users can simply replace the sensors. This supports continuous monitoring by reducing the burden of troublesome calibration work and manual checks with reagents.
Background of the Partnership
In recent years, the fields of land-based aquaculture and hydroponics have seen growing interest in IoT adoption due to increasing demand for stable production, labor saving, and remote management. However, in actual implementation sites, the establishment of communication environments and initial equipment setup often become burdens, posing hurdles to adoption and startup.
By partnering with HIS Mobile, which has strengths in the communication field, we will establish a system that provides communication lines, router equipment, and initial setup as a package when implementing "Mana System," further reducing the implementation burden on site.
Features of the New Service
1. "Uplink-Focused Data SIM 400GB" Suitable for IoT Applications
We offer an "Uplink-Focused Data SIM 400GB" optimized for uploading (transmitting) various sensor data acquired by "Mana System." The monthly fee is 5,500 yen (including tax) per line, supporting stable data communication in land-based aquaculture and hydroponic cultivation sites.
2. Communication Terminals Selectable Based on Site Environment
Depending on the scale of the facility and installation conditions, you can choose from the following communication terminals (Wi-Fi routers):
Terminal Name
Features
Fuji Soft +F FS030W
For small-scale and trial introductions
Mio Corporation TC700J
For medium-scale facilities
Teltonika RUT241
For sites prioritizing stability
Configurations can be made according to the application, from small-scale trial introductions to sites requiring higher stability.
3. Kitting Service for Immediate Use (Paid Option)
For customers unfamiliar with equipment setup, we offer a paid kitting service. Our staff will perform SIM insertion, APN settings, and communication checks in advance before shipping with Mana System.
Setup Fee: 11,000 yen (including tax) per unit
This reduces the initial setup burden on-site and enables early operational startup after implementation. It is also possible to select an option where SIM cards and equipment are shipped directly from HIS Mobile if customers wish to perform the setup themselves.
Expanding Utilization in Diverse Fields
"Mana System" is being utilized in a variety of fields beyond aquaponics facilities, including land-based aquaculture and hydroponics.
At the seahorse farm in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Mana System is used for environmental management in land-based aquaculture of marine fish. By continuously monitoring changes in water quality and equipment environment, it supports stable operations in aquaculture sites handling delicate organisms.
At "Aqua Garden Lab" within Enoshima Station in Kanagawa Prefecture, it has been introduced for the purpose of public space exhibition and regional revitalization, and is used in initiatives to promote understanding of ethical consumption.
Furthermore, as our own demonstration base, we operate an aquaponics farm "Mana no Saen" with an area of 2,800 square meters in Yaotsu Town, Kamo District, Gifu Prefecture. This farm is a research and development base for demonstrating the effectiveness of Mana System and establishing a monetization model. At Mana no Saen, vegetables such as frill lettuce, batavia lettuce, basil, and watercress, as well as fish such as tilapia and sturgeon, are produced under environmental management by Mana System.
Through these initiatives, the Company will continue to develop Mana System as an IoT service for the primary industry, spanning land-based aquaculture, hydroponics, and aquaponics.
Implementation Flow and Billing System
With this service, communication lines, terminals, and kitting services can be applied for collectively through a dedicated application form in cooperation with HIS Mobile. Billing will be divided as follows:
Biller
Billed Items
HIS Mobile
Communication (SIM) fees, terminal purchase price, administrative fees
Super Appli Inc.
Mana System® usage fees, travel expenses, kitting service fees (paid option)
By organizing the roles of communication and system provision in this way, the operational procedures at the time of implementation are made clear.
Future Development
Going forward, the Company will continue to develop "Mana System" as an IoT service for land-based aquaculture and hydroponics, while also expanding its scope of application to complex production sites, including aquaponics.
We aim to contribute to the establishment of sustainable production systems by creating mechanisms that support remote monitoring, labor saving, and stable operations required in the primary industry.
