Kyoto-based "RETANGO," a project that proposes new value by bridging traditional techniques and contemporary sensibility, will participate again this year in the experiential event "SANTASSÉ at KIFUNE 2026," held at Kifune Shrine in Kyoto from May 29 (Fri) to May 31 (Sun), 2026.
"SANTASSÉ at KIFUNE" is an event held with the concept of a "Trading Post," serving as a platform to disseminate culture across tradition, art, and daily life (clothing, food, and housing). Set in the naturally rich Kifune area, creators and brands from various fields gather to offer a space where their unique sensibilities and cultures can be experienced.
### About RETANGO's Exhibition
This time, RETANGO will present an installation that merges traditional crafts and contemporary art, utilizing an old folk house located about 2 minutes walk from Kifune Shrine. The venue will feature the high-grade carpet "RÈI" produced by Tango Textile Co., Ltd., founded in 1947, along with works by traditional craft director Yudai Tachikawa, and chairs from Tendo Mokko Co., Ltd., which has created Japan's representative furniture masterpieces since its founding in 1940. RETANGO will showcase its unique worldview.
### RETANGO's Nationwide Initiatives
RETANGO has previously held a POP-UP at Takamatsu Symbol Tower in spring 2025 in conjunction with the Setouchi Triennale, and in November of the same year, implemented an installation and market event at "Anabuki-tei," a single-house rental accommodation in Takamatsu, Kagawa. Carefully selected brands from all over Japan gathered to deliver the "clothing, food, and housing" experience proposed by RETANGO.
Furthermore, in March 2026, RETANGO hosted a traditional craft experience tour in Kyotango, the production base of "RÈI," inviting interior coordinators active nationwide. Participants visited Tango Textile, Asagi Museum (Nishijin-ori), and Tayu (inheriting Tango chirimen), creating opportunities to experience the manufacturing culture rooted in the region. Please enjoy the space proposed by RETANGO, where tradition and modernity intersect, amidst the water and greenery of Kifune.

Based on the concept of "10 REs," through keywords derived from "RE," meaning "again" or "back,"
We pass on history and stories to the future. We reconstruct Japanese traditional crafts, art, and vintage products, inherit them to the next generation, and offer new value to modern lifestyles.
We feature high-grade carpets like "RÈI," as well as art, traditional craft items, historic antiques, and vintage products.
"RETANGO" is not just about rebirth, but a "RE-start" in a new form, playing a crucial role in connecting the past and the future.
