Joconne Co., Ltd. will hold an experiential event titled "Let's Prepare Together! First Menstruation Class ~Learn with Fun, Turn Anxiety into Peace of Mind~" for children approaching their first menstruation and their guardians, on August 2, 2026 (Sun) at SivanS Lab in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
This program, perfect for summer vacation homework, allows participants to learn through "knowing, touching, and experiencing," including a napkin absorbency experiment and hands-on interaction with menstrual products.
Napkin Absorbency Experiment! An Experiential Program to "Learn by Touching"
The biggest feature of this event is the hands-on program where participants can learn while actually holding menstrual products.
The highlight is the "Napkin Absorbency Experiment." Using colored water, participants will pour liquid onto a napkin to see how much it absorbs. They will learn about the mechanisms of menstrual products in a fun way, as parents and children observe, touch, and experience factors like the surface feel after absorption and features that prevent leakage.
By actually seeing, touching, and trying menstrual products, the feeling of "anxiety due to lack of knowledge" will be transformed into "peace of mind due to knowledge."
It's not just about acquiring knowledge; it's about gaining the confidence to think, "I'll be okay when that day comes," through actual experience.
Learn by Touching! "KAANE" Absorbent Shorts
On the day, an experience corner for the organic cotton absorbent shorts brand "KAANE" will be set up.
Participants can check the material, thickness, and texture of the absorbent shorts, which are difficult to understand through photos or the internet alone, by actually holding them.
Additionally, a special discounted price will be available for event participants on the day of the event. Product details: http://kaane.jp/
Menarche Education to Prepare for at Home
Interest is growing. On the other hand, even though there are opportunities to learn about menstruation at school, the limited class time often restricts the teaching to "basic knowledge" such as mechanisms and hygiene.
As a result, many children and guardians feel, "I sort of understood, but I'm still anxious when the time comes..."
Meanwhile, in an era where children encounter diverse information through social media and the internet, many parents struggle with:
"I don't know how to explain it." "I want to explain without making them anxious." "I want to relearn it myself."
There is a reality where it's difficult to find a space where parents and children can talk with peace of mind together.
At this event, Ms. Reiko Saito from the "Menstruation Health Room Association" will serve as the instructor, carefully explaining the mechanisms of menstruation, changes in the mind and body, and preparations for menarche in words that children can easily understand. Through not only knowledge but also experience, we will provide an opportunity for parents and children to learn positively about it as their own issue.
