BS10 (read: BS Ten), a nationwide free BS broadcasting station operated by Japanet Broadcasting Co., Ltd., will start broadcasting a new movie program "LiLiCo's Lovin' Movies ~HAPPY LIFE WITH CINEMA~" from May, hosted by LiLiCo, a movie commentator and selection committee member of the Hochi Film Award, in her first ever crown program on BS10, delivering information on masterpiece and latest movies!
To liven up the movie industry, with the concept of "Make every day HAPPIER with movies!", we want to deliver the ultimate experience that can only be tasted through movies to as many people as possible. With this in mind, LiLiCo will talk passionately about the charm of masterpiece movies with love, in order to increase new movie fans.
Furthermore, as a program that connects to the Hochi Film Award, which has a tradition of over 50 years, and the "BS10 Premium Award" newly established last year, there is also a corner introducing new theatrical movies, introducing movies that can be enjoyed both at home and in the movie theater every week, so please don't miss it. After finishing the recording of the new program, she looked back, "The time I can talk about my beloved movies is so happy! There is the excitement of a new program, but there are also many hardships. It felt like making it together with the staff, thinking about how to make it an interesting program. You have to enjoy your work, after all. Because fun is contagious. For me, movies are entertainment that brings hints useful for life. Even after the end roll finishes, I digest it within myself and use it for my own life."
The movie for the first broadcast is the moving human drama "I am Sam" starring Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning, which depicts the interaction and deep bond between a father with an intellectual disability and his daughter. Regarding this work, she said, "My husband's (Ryohei Odai) number one movie. I felt a kind of connection."
Regarding the secret to "spending every day HAPPY" for LiLiCo, in line with the new program's concept of "wanting to make every day HAPPIER with movies!", she said, "Of course, it's movies. Precisely because I watch a lot of movies, I can learn a lot from other people's failures. I especially love documentaries, and I apply people's failures to myself, to not do the same things. Thanks to watching a lot of movies, my capacity expands, and I get my own maxims and various words." She also revealed the secret to a HAPPY life, saying, "I tell myself the words, 'Happy is beyond bothersome and scary.' It's very important to go through a lot of hard times, make an effort, and face it, so I always keep such words in my heart. I think there are many easier paths, but life wouldn't be interesting that way. It's very important to know with your own heart after all."
Also, regarding recommended works that can make you HAPPY, she showed her enthusiasm for selecting works as a member of the program staff, saying, "A movie I definitely want to introduce on the program is a work called 'As It Is in Heaven' (Så som i himmelen), an anthem to life about one person's hard work in life, and when they get sick, how people change when they crawl up from there and encounter what they truly love. I also really like 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'Sex and the City', and 'The Intern', but I like works like 'As It Is in Heaven' with a shocking last scene, where you can take it home and create an ending within yourself along with the lingering memory."
Furthermore, regarding the Hochi Film Award, which has a tradition of over 50 years, she showed her stance as a judge, saying, "I am fighting seriously. With words, though," while showing interest in the current environment where a wide range of creators grow, regarding the current excitement of Japanese movies, "They are all wonderful scripts, and the actors completely immersing themselves in their roles. There have always been many masterpiece Japanese movies from the past, but the number is completely different now. Now we are in an era where you can make movies even with a mobile phone, so I think various new talented creators are emerging, and I'm always looking forward to it."
Regarding Western movies, she sent cheers, saying, "In terms of box office revenue, we might need to work harder, but right now I think there is a pretty good balance. In the box office ranking, there is 'Project Hail Mary', and there are anime works. Sometimes it becomes all anime movies, but I also want everyone to watch more Western movies."
