'Naniwa Honzome' is a traditional craft of Osaka and Sakai, designated as a national traditional craft.
This project aims to bring Osaka's traditional culture closer to both domestic and international guests and to provide them with memorable experiences. The hotel will set up photo spots and mini lanterns using hand towels, allowing guests to enjoy the cool summer atmosphere created by Osaka's traditional beauty.
About 'Naniwa Honzome' Hand Towel Interior Decorations
'Naniwa Honzome' is a dyeing technique unique to Japan, developed in Osaka during the Meiji era, known as 'Chusen.' It is designated as a national traditional craft. The charm lies in the beautiful patterns with no front or back, achieved by injecting dye from both sides of layered fabric, and the delicate blending and subtle gradation unique to handcrafted work. This decoration is also part of a collaborative effort with the 'Umeda Yukata Festival 2026' held in the Umeda area. Hotel Granvia Osaka promotes the succession of Japanese culture and coexistence with the region.
Additionally, JR West Hotels, to which the hotel belongs, is promoting sustainable initiatives under the name 'JR West Hotels Summer SDGs Month' until August 31, 2026 (Mon), focusing on coexistence with the region and environmental considerations. Hotel Granvia Osaka and Hotel Viskio Osaka are also implementing various initiatives, such as providing sustainable breakfast menus, preparing welcome drinks for guests, and conducting water sprinkling, all with environmental considerations.
