Umekoji Potel KYOTO × Gyu Nyu Sekken: 'Waku Waku Soap Craft Fun' Collaboration Event Opens Near Umekoji Park

Umekoji Potel KYOTO (operated by JR West Hononic Co., Ltd., Kyoto City, Shimogyo Ward / President: Ichiro Nagaoka), hereinafter referred to as "Potel" (General Manager: Misako Matsui), will co-host the "Waku Waku Soap Craft Fun" event with Gyu Nyu Sekken Kyojin Co., Ltd. (Osaka City, Higashiyodogawa Ward / President: Teiji Miyazaki) over two days on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2026.

This event is a popular collaboration with Gyu Nyu Sekken, with which Potel has deepened ties through initiatives at "Umekoji Sentō Pote-Yu." Each past event has drawn many guests, earning praise as a fun experience for families and even adults.

Enjoy crafting your original soap artwork by selecting your favorite shapes, all while surrounded by the gentle, comforting fragrance unique to soap. All tools and materials are provided on-site, so guests can participate easily with no preparation.

The venue, Umekoji Potel KYOTO, is just a short walk from Umekoji Park. The soap craft experience is enjoyable even for young children, making it a perfect addition to visits to Umekoji Park, Kyoto Railway Museum, or Kyoto Aquarium. We warmly welcome families and friends to join us.

We’ve created a park inside Potel. Featuring a wooden ball pool and screen projection capabilities, it’s a versatile space for various types of play.

Available not only to overnight guests but also to restaurant and cafe visitors (with time restrictions).

Umekoji Sentō Pote-Yu

A public bathhouse created in the Reiwa era to connect hotel guests and local residents—a place to “pote” and relax. Enjoy conversations with people you meet in the steam, unwind from daily fatigue, and fully savor your bathing time.

- Day-use only: 15:00–20:00 (Last Entry 19:30)

A bright, open cafe on the 1st floor of Umekoji Potel KYOTO, featuring large windows filled with sunlight. Enjoy carefully selected coffee, tea, and seasonal handmade tarts.
