The "Tsuzawa Yotaka Andon Festival," held annually on the first Friday and Saturday of June in Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture, is a magnificent and powerful traditional event where large Andon lanterns, approximately 6 meters high and 11 meters long, collide with each other to break the opponent's hanging decorations. The hanging decorations are three-dimensional frameworks of dragons, butterflies, peonies, etc., assembled from bamboo skewers, covered with Japanese paper, and decorated with vibrant colors such as red, yellow, and navy. The atmosphere becomes even more magical at night.
