Sunshine Aquarium (Ikebukuro, Tokyo) will be conducting an advertising takeover on JR Saikyo Line trains from June 29 (Mon) to July 12 (Sun), where the aquarium's creatures will deliver "summer greetings" from within the train cars.

Inside the trains, alongside photos of popular creatures from Sunshine Aquarium, such as cape penguins and Asian small-clawed otters, a message will be delivered from the aquarium: "Wishing You a Cool Summer."

Traditionally, summer greetings are sent between the Minor Heat solar term (around July 7) and the day before the Beginning of Autumn (around August 7). However, this year, with mid-May already experiencing midsummer days earlier than usual, and the heat already intensifying, this takeover aims to bring a sense of coolness and comfort to passengers, delivering seasonal greetings a little ahead of time.

The train interiors will be decorated with hanging posters featuring photos of creatures like jellyfish and penguins that evoke a sense of "coolness" and "healing," along with door-side advertisements designed to look like letters from the aquarium's animal care staff, postcard-style door glass stickers, and window-top displays resembling calendars.

This train, designed to offer passengers a moment of "coolness" during their commute or leisure travel to Ikebukuro, will run daily somewhere along its route throughout the period.

In conjunction with the "Sunshine Aquarium Refreshing Summer Festival 2026" starting July 17 (Fri), please enjoy the cool summer messages delivered from the aquarium.

From July 17 (Fri) to August 30 (Sun), the "Sunshine Aquarium Refreshing Summer Festival 2026," a limited-time summer event full of refreshing experiences, will be held! It features content that allows visitors to enjoy coolness, including the "Sea Lion Soaked Great Operation!" sea lion performance time, which uses a large amount of water and may require participants to change clothes.
