The PCAC is a contest aimed at achieving the highest level of matching based on fundamental principles in recruitment and ultimately maximizing the satisfaction of job seekers and client companies. The ultimate goal of this contest is to raise the overall capabilities of the recruitment industry in Japan.
The contest comprises participants from many recruitment companies, including major industry players such as Persol Career, Mynavi, en-japan, and Sales Career Agent. Mr. Aonuma achieved a remarkable victory in the 4th competition.
This time, Mr. Ito and Mr. Hashimoto were highly praised for their consulting skills, which involve analyzing job seekers' intentions and characteristics within a limited time and providing optimal proposals based on career development, leading them to achieve victory in the 9th competition.
About Element HRC Co., Ltd.:
Element HRC Co., Ltd. operates in the paid recruitment agency business, specializing in the medical, IT, and manufacturing fields. They offer a diverse range of human resource services, including recruitment consulting primarily focused on headhunting, high-difficulty search-based recruitment support, recruitment process outsourcing, and career training programs.
Their strength lies not only in introducing job openings requested by companies but also in understanding companies' recruitment challenges and proactively engaging from the upstream of recruitment strategy to create new job needs.
Furthermore, since its inception, the company has centered its training on the career consulting methodology of "listening to intentions and characteristics, and bridging proposals," which is a key evaluation criterion in PCAC, to provide recruitment services.
In the 4th PCAC competition held in 2024, Mr. Tomo Aonuma was the winner. With another winner emerging in the 9th competition, the replicability of the company's consulting methodology and training system has once again been recognized.
Comments from Winners:
Mr. Ito joined Element HRC after gaining experience in sales of medical robots for university hospitals at a medical device manufacturer. He is currently in charge of the high-class segment in the healthcare field.
For this competition, he thoroughly analyzed interviews of past winners and conducted simulations assuming multiple job seeker profiles before the actual event.
His proactive use of explanations based on market data and figures to make proposals that job seekers could understand contributed to his evaluation.
Mr. Ito commented:
"I believe that 'listening to intentions and characteristics, and bridging proposals,' which is evaluated in PCAC, is a universal interview framework in career consulting. I want to share the lessons learned this time with our internal team and improve the interview quality of all our consultants."
Mr. Hashimoto joined Element HRC after working in sales for a medical materials manufacturer. He is currently a team leader responsible for career support in the medical and IT fields.
To condense the usual one-hour interview into 20 minutes for the competition, he re-evaluated his own interview process, organized necessary information such as industry insights, market trends, and job role understanding, and conducted thorough preparations assuming the actual event.
Mr. Hashimoto commented:
"Through this victory, I have gained confidence in the career consulting approach I have been practicing. I want to continue to be a consultant who accurately grasps each candidate's intentions and characteristics and proposes fields where they can thrive."
Current State and Challenges of the Recruitment Market:
In the current environment of labor shortages, companies are seeking recruitment that not only focuses on the hiring process itself but also considers retention and success after onboarding.
Meanwhile, job seekers are now choosing their next workplace based on multiple factors such as career development, work style, and corporate culture, not just job content.
In such a recruitment market, career consulting that analyzes job seekers' intentions, characteristics, values, and career visions to find the optimal connection with companies is becoming more important than ever, rather than simply introducing job openings based on work history and desired conditions.
To achieve this, it is essential for recruitment companies to continuously implement consultant training and improve matching accuracy.
PCAC serves as a platform where many recruitment companies participate to objectively confirm the results of their training.
Element HRC views this victory as a stepping stone and will continue to strive for the development of consultants who can provide satisfying matches for both job seekers and client companies in the medical, IT, and manufacturing fields.
