82MAJOR, Winner of the Asia Rising Group Award, Held Release Events in Tokyo Showcasing New Hit Song with the 'Clock Dance'!

82MAJOR (Eighty-Two Major), who received the Asia Rising Group Award (Male Category) at 'ASIA CULTUR FESTIVAL 2026' held in Tokyo on the 9th, held release events on the 11th in Odaiba, Tokyo, and on the 12th in Shiodome, Tokyo.

Debuting in South Korea in October 2023, 82MAJOR is a six-member next-generation K-pop idol group whose name combines Korea's country code '82' with 'MAJOR,' symbolizing their ambition to 'become major beyond Korea and achieve global stardom.' Promoting their mini-album 'FEELM,' released in Korea this April, this release marks their latest visit to Japan. The album, which achieved the group’s highest chart position on Korea’s Hanteo Chart, was completed through a self-produced style with each member contributing to songwriting.

Despite unstable weather, fans known as '82DE' (fan name) flocked to DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, the venue for the 11th event. As anticipation built for the long-awaited return to Japan and the first-ever Japanese performance of an album track, the members appeared in all-white outfits. The venue erupted in cheers, and riding the wave of excitement, they performed 'W.T.F' from the album. After the performance, leader CHO SEONG IL (Cho Seong-il) led the group in thanking the audience in Japanese: 'Thank you all today!' The MC segment began with member introductions. NAM SEONG MO (Nam Seong-mo) greeted warmly: 'Hello everyone! We’ve been wanting to see you!' HWANG SEONG BIN (Hwang Seong-bin), who became familiar with Japanese through anime, and KIM DO GYUN (Kim Do-gyun), whose Japanese fluency improves with every Japan activity, delivered polite greetings in Japanese, saying, 'Thank you so much for coming today!' Fans responded passionately with loud shouts of 'Thank you!'

PARK SEOK JOON (Park Seok-joon) and YOON YE CHAN (Yoon Ye-chan) expressed their bittersweet feelings: 'We’ve truly enjoyed this, but actually, the next song is our last,' and 'We’re really sorry, but you’ll enjoy it until the end, right?' When they announced, 'The next song is 'Sign'!', the crowd erupted in even greater joy. KIM DO GYUN shared the song’s message: 'This track is packed with mature charm,' and the members taught the audience synchronized chants matching the melody. Responding instantly, fans shouted 'Sign!' at the top of their lungs as the song began with YOON YE CHAN’s verse.

During the chorus, they performed the iconic 'clock dance,' pointing to their wrists to represent time—an essential signature of the song set to the memorable lyrics 'tiki taki tak.' Strong wrists drew intense gazes and cheers, and the live performance concluded with overwhelming energy fueled by the fans’ self-created chants. Following the performance, CD purchasers participated in high-touch sessions, card handover events, and video recording sessions. On the 13th, a fan club event was held. Amid their whirlwind Japan visit, the members’ secret joy was food. Members with a particular passion for ramen reportedly enjoyed tonkotsu ramen and Japanese-style fried chicken the previous day. With a fan concert scheduled in Korea in July and an Asia tour on the horizon, expectations are rising for 82MAJOR’s continued activities in Japan. Their future moves will be closely watched.
