I-TEC Corporation (Headquarters: Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City; Representative: Daisuke Ohata), a steel trading company, has made a donation to Himi City, Toyama Prefecture, utilizing the Corporate Hometown Tax Donation system. A presentation ceremony was held at Himi City Hall on May 27. With the management philosophy of 'becoming a company sought after by society, the community, and customers,' I-TEC continues to promote initiatives that contribute to local communities as a steel distributor connecting manufacturers and users.
Background: Founded in 1923 as a scrap metal dealer, I-TEC celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. The company operates 35 locations nationwide, including the Hokuriku Branch in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, and has expanded its business by shifting large-scale steel transport to maritime shipping. Although 2 years and 4 months have passed since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024, recovery is still ongoing. Following donations to Imizu City in March 2024 and Wajima City in March 2025, the company decided to donate to Himi City to provide broader support.
Donation Details: The donation amount is 5,000,000 yen. The ceremony was attended by Himi Mayor Masahiro Kikuchi and I-TEC President Daisuke Ohata. President Ohata stated, 'Recovery is still halfway through, and we are ready to cooperate by providing construction and civil engineering materials that we hold in our inventory.'
