【Joyo Bank】Internal Use of Business-Specific AI Agent "JOYO AI AGENT" Begins

Joyo Bank (President Tetsuya Akino) announced today that it has built "JOYO AI AGENT," a business-specific AI agent (hereinafter, local LLM) that operates in a closed environment completely separated from the internet, and began its internal use on March 26, 2026, as detailed below.

Since July 2025, the bank has been conducting a demonstration experiment of a local LLM in collaboration with Athena Technologies, a startup from the Matsuo Laboratory* that develops generative AI solutions (Representative Director Takeshi Abe). The introduction of this system was decided after confirming its effectiveness in enhancing and streamlining operations while protecting the bank's confidential information and customers' personal information during this demonstration experiment.

Moving forward, the bank will continue to actively utilize the latest technologies to improve management efficiency, establish a stable management foundation, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the local community by giving back the knowledge gained through internal use to the region.

1. Background of Introduction and Features of "JOYO AI AGENT"

In recent years, while generative AI is sought after for business efficiency in banking operations, ensuring the safety of data, including confidential and personal information, has become a critical issue.

"JOYO AI AGENT" achieves high security by reducing the risk of data leakage, as it builds a generative AI system environment on a closed cloud physically separated from the external internet. Furthermore, it is designed with scalability to add functions, as it implements multiple agents specialized for each business use case.

Considering operability, a "prompt-less" (no instruction text required) user interface has been adopted, where processing is executed simply by uploading a file and clicking a button. This allows bank employees without specialized knowledge of AI to use it smoothly.

2. Implemented Functions (Use Cases)

In this project, in addition to building the AI agent platform, functions in the following two business areas, whose effectiveness was confirmed in the demonstration experiment, have been implemented. Going forward, the bank will expand the use cases available for "JOYO AI AGENT" in various departments, including sales branches.
