Chugoku Bank, Ltd., under the Chugin Financial Group (hereinafter, Chugin FG), and C-Cube Consulting, Inc. (hereinafter, C-Cube) have released a top-level dialogue video featuring President Sadanori Kato and President Ritsu Nishihara.

Regional Revitalization is 'Destiny'. Initiatives to be Judged by History.

Chugin FG has set 'Deepening of Regional Revitalization SDGs' as the first pillar of its medium-term management plan. President Kato expresses a strong sense of crisis about the current situation where diverse local cultures and traditions are disappearing due to the over-concentration in Tokyo, stating that growing together with the region is the 'destiny' of a regional bank. In this video, he speaks of his resolve to tackle regional issues 'from start to finish' and with a 'no-escape' attitude, going beyond mere financial support.

'Tokyo-less' Globalization and the 'Okayama Model'

Symbolic in the dialogue is the strategy to 'directly connect local and global'. C-Cube will act as a 'navigator', 'translating and interpreting' global knowledge to a regional scale, aiming to create a new economic sphere that connects Okayama directly to the world.

Furthermore, they mention that the knowledge of successes and failures in Okayama will be shared with other regional banks, defining a mechanism to accelerate regional revitalization throughout Japan as the 'Okayama Model', and refer to its ripple effects.

Challenging at 2x, 3x Speed as the 'First Penguin'

C-Cube will take on the role of the 'first penguin', taking risks to dive into areas where the long-established main bank finds it difficult to move. President Nishihara touches on the origin of the character for 'challenge' (挑戦), pointing out that seizing a sign (兆) is a fine line from fleeing. He states that to stop the deterioration of the region, it is necessary to continue creating new value at twice or three times the current speed, not just maintaining the status quo, and shows his determination to be a 'detonator' for the region.
