Chugoku Bank (Okayama City; President: Sadanori Kato) has been providing the "Chugin Decarbonization Consulting (*1)" service since August 18, 2022, to support customers in their efforts toward decarbonization.
We are pleased to announce that through this service, Nihon Tokushu Rozai Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company") has calculated its Scope 1 and Scope 2 (*3) greenhouse gas emissions based on the GHG Protocol (*2), and the reduction targets it established have received SBT (*4) certification (for small and medium-sized enterprises).
The Bank will continue to provide ongoing support to the Company as it works toward achieving its established reduction targets, including the provision of various solution menus.

(*2) An international standard for calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.
(*3) Scope 1: Direct greenhouse gas emissions by the business entity itself (e.g., fuel combustion).
Scope 2: Indirect emissions associated with the use of electricity, heat, or steam supplied by other companies.
(*4) An abbreviation for Science Based Targets; these are corporate greenhouse gas reduction targets that are scientifically consistent with the Paris Agreement.
