Kuriyama Motors Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Tomohiro Kuriyama, hereinafter referred to as Kuriyama Motors), with bases in Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa, aims for a sustainable society by selling, purchasing, renting, and selling parts for used trucks, and by providing environmentally friendly vehicles and promoting recycling.
In June 2025, Kuriyama Motors established a Safety and Health Committee and has been continuously conducting monthly workplace inspections and safety education, with collaboration between the field, management, and executive levels.
In conjunction with the National Safety Week, we would like to inform you about the efforts to create a workplace and establish a safety culture, which are being promoted by the Safety and Health Committee.

Monthly Safety and Health Committee Meetings Translate Field Feedback into Workplace Improvements
Kuriyama Motors established the Safety and Health Committee in June 2025 with the aim of creating a workplace where each employee can work with peace of mind.
The Safety and Health Committee meets once a month and is broadly composed of managers from each department and executives to ensure that opinions from the field are appropriately reflected. By sharing opinions and issues raised by each department and using them to improve the workplace environment and safety measures, we are promoting the creation of a workplace where each employee can work with peace of mind.
A "Safety First" sign is displayed within the workplace. We share the awareness of prioritizing safety throughout the workplace.
Promoting the Establishment of a Safety Culture Through Workplace Inspections and Safety Education
During monthly workplace inspections, we use checklists tailored to the environment of both offices and work sites to check equipment, work environments, protective equipment, and hygiene management, and work to identify and improve unsafe conditions early.
In addition, in cooperation with each department, we have developed a "Safety Confirmation Manual for Each Task" and share it with all employees. By standardizing work procedures and safety confirmation items, we are working to improve safety awareness and prevent work-related accidents.
Cases of accidents and injuries that occurred in the workplace are shared with all employees in a way that does not identify individuals, and we work to prevent recurrence by learning from the causes and responses.
Throughout the year, we also continuously provide safety education on measures against heatstroke, infectious diseases, traffic safety, and mental health.
Promoting Workplace Environment Improvements by Reflecting Field Feedback
Feedback from the field shared at the Safety and Health Committee meetings is also reflected in improvements to equipment and the workplace environment.
For example, we are continuously making improvements tailored to the issues at each location, such as installing a convex mirror to improve visibility at entrances and exits, improving the environment for using water servers as a measure against heatstroke, and considering the use of air-conditioned clothing.
In this way, the accumulation of daily improvements is essential for creating a safe workplace. We are promoting the establishment of a safety culture through daily workplace inspections, safety education, and the accumulation of insights and improvements in the field.
"Ability to Notice" Improves Through Repeated Inspections
The overall achievement rate of the workplace inspection checklist is as follows:
June-August: 92.93%
September-November: 87.16%
December-February: 88.79%
While the figures show a decline from the previous period, we believe that one of the reasons is the improvement in the inspectors' "ability to notice" through repeated inspections, enabling them to appropriately point out previously overlooked areas for improvement.
Furthermore, since inspection personnel rotate at the work sites, the number of employees capable of safety checks is steadily increasing, leading to the establishment of a safety culture.
Workplace inspections are conducted using checklists. Issues found at the work sites are shared at the Safety and Health Committee meetings and lead to improvements. Inspection results are recorded on the checklist and used for continuous workplace improvement.
Comments from Safety and Health Committee Representatives
"I believe that a safety culture is not just about establishing rules and systems, but a state where the awareness and attitude of prioritizing safety in actions are rooted throughout the organization.
I believe it is formed through the accumulation of awareness and actions of the entire workplace, such as being able to point out dangers regardless of position when they are noticed, and not making judgments like 'let's skip it because we're busy' or 'it's okay because we're used to it.'
We will continue our efforts to establish a safety culture while valuing small insights from the field." (Tokyo Branch, Safety and Health Committee Representative)
