NEO Print Exhibition: Imprinting the Present
IMPRINTING THE PRESENT
June 30 (Tue)–July 7 (Tue) 2026 11:00–20:00 (Last day until 19:00)
Printmaking has long served as a medium to convey people's lives and ideas, functioning as "a mirror reflecting its era." The theme of this exhibition is "imprinting the present." If we regard contemporary society itself as a "printing block," apply ink, and press it onto paper, what would emerge? This exhibition is an attempt to visualize present-day issues surrounding us—inequality, environment, gender, war, loneliness—and reflect "now" through individual perspectives. Artists with diverse backgrounds in birthplace, generation, gender, and printmaking techniques present works that each imprint their own interpretation of "the present."

BORDER! BORDER!
—Driving Along the Line—
July 9 (Thu)–14 (Tue) 2026 11:00–20:00 (Opening reception on first day 18:00–20:00; last day until 17:00)
In today's information-driven world, cultural boundaries are increasingly blurring. Amid this, photography returns to its origin as a medium to "record and preserve," aiming to capture the boundaries that exist today. For me, living on an island nation, the clearly demarcated landscape between the U.S. and Mexico is a fascinating subject. Driving by car through remote areas with little online information, I encountered a border where an endless iron structure lay silently across the land. While this massive wall divides, within the vast landscape it felt less like a barrier rejecting the outside and more like a cell membrane quietly revealing who we are. This is a quiet record of a journey where history stands silently between landscapes.

antakanta SOLO EXHIBITION "Then and There, I ..."
—antakanta Solo Exhibition: Then and there, I ...—
July 28 (Tue)–August 2 (Sun) 2026 11:00–20:00 (Last day until 17:00)
From July 28, 2026, contemporary artist antakanta will hold a solo exhibition titled "Then and There, I ..." at Shibuya Hikarie 8/CUBE. Centered on the themes of "freedom and loneliness," "life and death," and "time and space," the exhibition will display whimsical and charming paintings blending figures and abstraction. Reinterpreting the primitive artistic element of "line" across the history of painting—from cave paintings and ukiyo-e to manga, street art, and generative AI—the exhibition attempts to redefine it as "Neo-Croisement." This is also a challenge transcending boundaries between Western and Japanese painting and modern graphics. We invite you to experience art as real, tangible presence—not just an image on a digital screen—at Shibuya Hikarie.

While living, we are constantly exposed to various phenomena, stirring emotions and thoughts each time.
In fleeting moments when we are freed from this noise and silence enters our hearts, perhaps we confront the meaning and essence of our existence.
This exhibition presents seven women photographers who each explore the intersection of "life (LIFE)" and "stillness (STILL)," and the questions that arise from it. Even amid loneliness and hardship, we invite you to savor the lingering resonance of silence that reveals the possibility of "still (STILL) living (LIFE)."
This exhibition is held in conjunction with "The Miracle of Gaze: Japanese Women Photographers' Adventures," hosted by Bunkamura The Museum.
