The 'Flower Carpet' is an event where one large painting is created using flower petals and natural materials. A major festival is held every two years in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. In Sapporo, the first event was held in 2014 to commemorate the opening of Sapporo North 3-Jo Square (Akapla), and this year marks the 12th anniversary.
Together with a total of 500 participants, including citizen volunteers and people from the neighborhood, flower petals of roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums will be spread across the square to create colorful pictures. Please come and see the vibrant flower carpets.
