Nihon Jyoho Kiban Service Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Representative Director: Tomotoshi Sasaki / JIIS Security Lab) has launched "Akari Ichinose," an explanatory character who "translates" difficult security topics into easy-to-understand language, as the official character for the free web security check service "SiteDock." Her activities began on YouTube on June 20, 2026.
The goal is to resolve the issue where information on countermeasures is not reaching the people who need it due to the barrier of specialized terminology. Akari will not engage in game streaming or singing, but will focus solely on conveying security in an easy-to-understand manner, making her a "virtual security concierge." Videos are available for free to everyone. View YouTube Channel

Background: Countermeasure Information "Doesn't Reach" Due to Specialized Terminology
Many web security measures, such as countermeasures against spoofing emails, encryption of communications, and safe browser settings, depend not on preparation for advanced attacks, but on "whether basic settings are known."
Our "Hyogo Prefecture Web Security Status Survey 2026" (survey of 307 corporate sites in Hyogo Prefecture), released earlier, found that over half of the sites lacked countermeasures against spoofing emails, and over 90% of sites had not implemented basic security settings. Many of these issues stem not from special vulnerabilities, but from "not being aware of their existence."
Conversely, there are many things that can be prevented if only one knows about them. However, security information is often filled with specialized terms, making it difficult to convey "what is dangerous and what should be done." Simply providing information does not reach the担当者 (tantosha - personnel in charge) at small and medium-sized enterprises who need it. Akari Ichinose was created to directly address this challenge of "delivery."
"Not a VTuber" - An Explainer Dedicated to Translation
Akari Ichinose's position differs from so-called VTubers. Instead of gaining popularity through game streaming or singing, she stands "between" experts and users, dedicating herself solely to translating difficult knowledge into easy-to-understand language and delivering it.
Spoofing Email Countermeasures (SPF/DMARC): This is a "proof of identity" mechanism that allows the recipient to detect fake emails impersonating your company name. If not set up, there is a risk that fake emails will reach business partners and customers.
Security Headers: These are settings that instruct the browser to "display this safely." If they are missing, it creates openings that can lead to site tampering or eavesdropping on information.
Always HTTPS: This is a mechanism that encrypts communication with the site, preventing eavesdropping and tampering. It is an essential measure, familiar from the "lock icon," and is now indispensable.
Akari breaks down these terms with the motto, "One term per video, explained in the world's easiest way." The supervision is provided by JIIS Security Lab, which has operated the information security cloud for local governments in Hyogo Prefecture for 10 years. They aim to achieve both accuracy cultivated in the field of protecting resident information and understandability that makes people want to watch.

Distribution Content and Future Plans
The first series, "Akari Ichinose's Security Terminology Encyclopedia," is currently being released. The commemorative first topic is "Vulnerability (zeijakusei)," which is often seen in the news. It gently explains terms that are seen but difficult to explain.
In the future, they plan to release a project video titled "Information Security Management Terms: All 911 Explained Until the End" (情報セキュリティマネジメント用語全911、全部解説するまで終われまてん), which will not end until all 911 terms appearing in the Information Security Management Examination are explained. This series will be continuously published to be useful for both qualification study and improving security literacy.
Representative's Comment
Tomotoshi Sasaki, Representative Director, Nihon Jyoho Kiban Service Co., Ltd.
"In the 10 years of supporting local government security, I have keenly felt that the occurrence of damage is determined by 'whether people know' rather than the technology itself. On the other hand, the information that is most needed is shrouded in specialized terms and does not reach the front lines of small and medium-sized enterprises, which we most want to reach. Akari Ichinose will play the role of delivering correct but difficult information, correctly and gently. Our goal is not to entertain like VTubers, but to increase the 'understanding' of viewers and connect it to their protection from tomorrow onwards. We hope to slightly raise the literacy of business people in the region and across Japan."
