Nippon TV's Smartphone Content Boutique 'VIRAL POCKET' Challenges New Video Expression with Generative AI

This project, 'The Unseen Beauty', is an initiative by Nippon TV's smartphone content boutique 'VIRAL POCKET' in co-creation with Generative AI creator Akihiro Miyagi (belonging to KANA-L HOLDINGS) to challenge the possibilities of new video expression utilizing Generative AI.

Focusing on perception and sensibility that do not rely on sight, 4 visually impaired individuals belonging to ePARA Inc. (hereafter ePARA)—a company working to discover the individuality of people with disabilities and create opportunities for their social participation—participated as video directors. Each verbalized the images that expanded from sound, and brought them to life as video through the Generative AI handled by Mr. Miyagi.

The subject matter features the song 'CROWN' by the human beatbox crew SARUKANI, constructing a story based on the interpretations of the participants. Furthermore, by reconstructing the music to match the worldview of the video, an expression where sound and video mutually influence each other was attempted.

This project focuses on the creative potential born from ideas that do not rely on sight, seeking a new form of video production expanded by Generative AI.
