As part of Niigata City's initiative to promote renovation-based urban development, the '3rd Renovation School@Niigata City' will be held. Prior to the main event, a pre-lecture session will be conducted by practitioners (lecturers) active in the forefront of urban development.
Additionally, a talk session will be held featuring Jun Aoki, who will serve again this year as the School Master.
What is Renovation-Based Urban Development?
It is a new form of public-private partnership in urban development, led by the private sector, that utilizes existing resources such as idle spaces. Without relying on subsidies, it aims to create unique local businesses (content) in a cascading manner, fostering civic pride, enhancing area value, and solving complex regional challenges.
Renovation School (Rinosuku)
To cultivate talent for renovation-based urban development, Niigata City will host the 'Renovation School@Niigata City' from October 2 to 4. Participants will develop utilization plans and business proposals for vacant stores and public spaces in the Furumachi area, present them to property owners, and aim to realize these projects.
A pre-lecture event will be held ahead of the school. Those interested are encouraged to participate.
