Shimane Denko Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, President: Koichi Notsu, hereinafter "Shimane Denko"), with the slogan "Creating an Ordinary Everyday," will invite 24 third-year students from Shimane Prefectural Gotsu Technical High School to a new facility for next-generation engineer training that promotes "human resource development," "environment creation," and "future creation," the "Shimane Denko Group Mirai Kyoso - Jimei - Lab" (Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture), which will open on July 13, 2026. An industry-academia collaboration class will be held there on July 16 (Thu).
This initiative is part of the "Tsunaguka" project (FY2026 Project for Promoting Understanding and Retention of Young Workers in the Construction Industry) promoted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. In line with the project's objective to "connect students' desire to know with construction companies' desire to inform, deepening young people's understanding of the construction industry," this event was realized through the strong enthusiasm of the school to "be the first to utilize the newly completed state-of-the-art facility."
Facility Exterior
On the day of the event, through practical "site tours and experiences" utilizing the facility's large-scale practical training area (full-scale mock-ups of RC, W, and S structures), which is one of the largest in western Japan, and an "exchange of opinions" with engineers active on the front lines, we aim to promote entry into the construction industry, improve workplace retention, and encourage local employment.
We would like to invite members of the press to cover the challenges of high school students who will carry the future of Shimane Prefecture and this cutting-edge educational site where industry and academia are united.
