為紀念建立1200週年，本專案委託建築師岡部 修三氏（upsetters architects 主持人）操刀。有別於傳統納骨堂，此空間被重新構築為一個能靜靜凝視與逝者關係的「祈禱空間」。其重新定義了閉架式納骨堂中禮拜空間與遺骨的關係，打造出一個能與逝者對話的空間，因此獲得了iF DESIGN AWARD的肯定。

「在保留現有層架結構的同時，增添了重新定義逝者與生者羈絆的祈禱空間。在界線處，採用了兼具透明感與深度的手工訂製玻璃作為禮拜對象，扇形佈局溫柔地引導視線。木質細節與極簡的陳設營造出靜謐的氛圍，而分階段變化的照明則能促進冥想。這是傳統與寧靜創新融合的內省式個人空間。」

證大寺作為擁有1200年歷史的寺院，一直以來不斷探求如何創造一個環境，將日本佛教所珍視的「與逝者重逢」的意涵，重新帶回現代。
此次獲獎的納骨堂，不僅僅是遺骨的安置場所，更被設計為：

與自己對峙的場所
重新確認家族連結的場所
空間中央的訂製玻璃，在蘊含光線的同時柔和地擴散，作為祈禱的象徵而存在。分階段變化的照明，貼合參訪者的心境速度，引導至寧靜的內省。
這裡沒有華麗的裝飾，只有木頭的溫暖與極簡的陳設。
正因為有「留白」，這裡才能成為一個讓思緒得以昇華的空間。
