[Fragrance Program Taught by Perfumers] From 'Choosing a Scent' to 'Creating a Scent': Tokyo Biotechnology College Hosts Free Trial Session for Its Adult Fragrance Course on July 5 (Sun)

Tokyo Biotechnology College will launch a 'Fragrance Course' as part of its adult education program starting September 2026. In recent years, fragrances have gained attention not just as luxury items but as a means of expressing one's identity and worldview. Alongside a growing interest in re-learning, side businesses, and launching brands, there is an expanding need not only to 'choose a favorite scent' but to 'design and create one's own scent.' In response to these trends, this course is a program for working adults that allows them to learn the essence of fragrance design practically and systematically from active professional perfumers. Participants will understand the structure of top, middle, and base notes, as well as the mechanisms of scent diffusion and lingering, while developing the ability to 'verbalize' previously vague sensations and build targeted formulas (recipes).

The course covers everything from concept design to blending, allowing participants to create original fragrances that embody their own sensibilities and ideas. In addition to taking home three finished original products, participants can also take home a set of over 60 fragrance raw materials used in the course, enabling them to continue enjoying blending at home after the course. Furthermore, the created fragrances will be sold online for a limited time. A unique feature of this course is that it allows participants to not only create a scent but also experience delivering it as a product. The content is suitable for those who want to deepen their knowledge of fragrance as a hobby, as well as for those who are considering a side business or brand development in the future.
