[Omuta City, Fukuoka] New Omuta Station Industrial Park: Call for Proposals Following Revision of Land Sale Conditions [Applications Start July 2026!]

Omuta City is located in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, between the Fukuoka and Kumamoto metropolitan areas, with a population of approximately 100,000. The city boasts well-developed public transportation infrastructure, including railways, arterial roads, and ports, playing a central role in the Ariake regional settlement and self-reliance zone. In particular, the area surrounding the Kyushu Shinkansen New Omuta Station offers excellent access to the Kyushu Shinkansen, the Nankan Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, and the Omuta-Kita Interchange on the Ariake Sea Coastal Road, providing high transportation convenience as a 'wide-area exchange hub.' Leveraging this location, Omuta City is developing the New Omuta Station Industrial Park (8.14ha) in the area south of New Omuta Station to revitalize the region and create a bustling atmosphere by expanding the exchange population. The park includes 'Industrial Land' (4.45ha) for manufacturing and 'Nigiwai Koryu Land' (2.65ha) to enhance commercial and service functions. The Nigiwai Koryu Land aims to expand the exchange population from a wider area by enhancing lifestyle functions for the surrounding region and improving convenience for business and tourism visitors. Specifically, the city is promoting the establishment of commercial facilities (dining, retail, services, etc.) and accommodation facilities. For the New Omuta Station Industrial Park development project, the city has been soliciting proposals from developers through a public proposal process since February this year to promote private-led development utilizing private sector expertise. Recently, the conditions have been revised to allow proposals for two plots or a single plot, in addition to the previous requirement of a package proposal for all three plots (E, F, and G). Applications for development proposals will be accepted starting July 1, 2026.
