Osaka International Cancer Institute Launches New Prostate Cancer Treatment: "Radiopharmaceutical Ligand Therapy"

The Osaka International Cancer Institute (Location: Chuo-ku, Osaka City, Director-General: Nariaki Matsuura), a local independent administrative agency of the Osaka Prefectural Hospital Organization, is pleased to announce the launch of "PSMA Radioactive Ligand Therapy," which targets substances found in prostate cancer cells. PSMA (Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen) is a protein commonly found in prostate cancer cells. In recent years, the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer targeting this PSMA have attracted significant attention and great expectations both in Japan and internationally. At the Osaka International Cancer Institute, the Urology Department, Isotope Therapy Department, Nursing Department, Medical Technology Department (Radiology Division), and Administrative Office have collaborated to newly introduce PSMA-targeted treatment for eligible prostate cancer cases. This will broaden the treatment options for prostate cancer patients and enable the provision of optimal treatment tailored to each patient's condition.
