Izumisano City Mayor Chiyomatsu of Osaka Prefecture will introduce the "#FurusatoNozei 3.0" initiative.

The Mayoral Alliance for Creating Japan's Future Society Through Regional Revitalization (hereinafter referred to as the "Japan Mayoral Alliance") will hold "Mayoral TOP LIVE vol.11" online on July 31, 2026, where mayors from across the country will speak about the "present situation of their regions."

"Mayoral TOP LIVE" is a special talk live event where mayors (city, town, and village heads) from various regions across the country set diverse themes for each session and speak with the aim of broadly sharing their advanced initiatives, success stories, town development, and other efforts for regional revitalization, as well as their future outlook.

The program consists of a presentation with slides (45 minutes) and a Q&A session (5 minutes), making it a one-hour event. This is a free talk live event that anyone can participate in, so please feel free to join.

For the 11th installment, the Mayor of Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture, will be our guest.

We will hear detailed stories about how Izumisano City, which is popular for its "furusato nozei" (hometown tax donation) program, has gained popularity through initiatives such as "#FurusatoNozei 3.0," a new form utilizing crowdfunding.

The content will also help solve the "furusato nozei"-related concerns faced by various municipalities.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear real stories from a mayoral perspective, and we encourage anyone interested in Izumisano City or "furusato nozei" to watch.

The New Era of Furusato Nozei: What is "#FurusatoNozei 3.0"?

~ Moving the Town, Changing the Town: The Heart of Regional Revitalization ~

Talk Content Overview

Speaker: Daiko Chiyomatsu, Mayor of Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture ■ Keywords: Furusato Nozei, #FurusatoNozei 3.0, Regional Revitalization

Municipalities like Izumisano City, which have limited local specialty resources, have achieved a V-shaped recovery in donation acceptance amounts since returning to the "furusato nozei" system through ideas and ingenuity. The driving force behind this was "#FurusatoNozei 3.0," an initiative to support the creation of new local specialty products within the city, with the slogan "If we don't have local products, let's create them!" "Furusato nozei," which has been pursued as a measure to secure non-tax revenue amidst strict financial management, has evolved into an important tool for regional revitalization, such as "supporting the development of local industries" and "creating new industries" through "#FurusatoNozei 3.0." We will introduce "#FurusatoNozei 3.0," where "furusato nozei" has evolved into a new phrase.

● What kind of place is Izumisano City?

Gyojano-taki Falls

Inunakiyama Mt. and Shipporyu-ji Temple are known as the oldest Shugendo (mountain asceticism) training grounds in Japan, and people of all genders can experience training. This experience plan is also available as a "furusato nozei" return gift.

Why not try a training experience at the historic Inunakiyama Mt. and Shipporyu-ji Temple?

Senshu Towel

Izumisano City is said to be the birthplace of Japan's towel industry, boasting a history of nearly 140 years. The "post-bleached" manufacturing method results in products that are highly absorbent, clean, and gentle on the skin, and are loved by many.

They are also consistently popular as "furusato nozei" return gifts.

SiS Rinku Tower in Rinku Town is one of Japan's leading skyscrapers, standing at 256 meters tall. From the Stargate Hotel Kansai Airport, which occupies a large part of this building, you can enjoy beautiful views in all directions (east, west, north, and south) while dining.

A beautiful night view registered as a Japan Night View Heritage Site

We received a certificate at the Night View Summit 2025 last November.

Let's stay with "furusato nozei"!

About the Japan Mayoral Alliance

The Japan Mayoral Alliance, until November 10, 2025, was known as the "Mayoral Alliance for Creating Regional Future Societies Together with Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan" (abbreviated as "Expo Mayoral Alliance"). Leveraging the Expo as an opportunity, it aimed to promote the appeal of regional resources and achieve regional revitalization that would lead beyond the Expo through co-creation with municipalities and companies. It held the experiential co-creation event "Resolution of LOCAL JAPAN Exhibition ~A Future Where the Lives of Japan and the Earth Shine, Created by Regions~" to allow participants to enjoy and savor the "depth of Japan" overflowing in each region with all five senses. On November 11, 2025, it was renamed to "Mayoral Alliance for Creating Japan's Future Society Through Regional Revitalization" (abbreviated as "Japan Mayoral Alliance"). Moving forward, as a hub organization aiming for regional revitalization, it will continue to implement initiatives to connect regions across the country, the government, private companies, and organizations, and through co-creation, promote the appeal of regions both domestically and internationally, solve issues, and weave a better future society. It also provides support for the concrete realization of regional appeal development, promotion, and issue resolution in cooperation with various parties.
