◆Overview

The Research and Innovation Co-creation Organization of National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu) will hold a J-PEAKS (Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities as Regional and Core Distinctive Research Universities) public symposium titled "How to Live in the AI Era and Create the Future - Considering the Future of Humanity and Society from a Well-being Perspective" on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at its Tsushima Campus.

The social implementation of digital technologies, including AI, is rapidly advancing, significantly changing society and work styles. While efficiency and productivity are improving, new challenges such as increased burdens and unclear roles are emerging in the field.

This symposium will feature Keio University Professor Hiroaki Miyata as a lecturer, exploring the desirable relationship between AI and human society from a well-being perspective under the theme "How to Live in the AI Era and Create the Future." Additionally, through a keynote speech by Okayama University Specially Appointed Professor (Industry-Academia Co-creation) Kento Sasano and a panel discussion involving corporate and university representatives, the symposium will discuss a future that balances sustainable growth of companies and organizations with human well-being, based on practices in regions, education, and workplaces.

This event serves as the kickoff for the "AI × Well-being" working group within OI-Start (Okayama Digital Innovation Creation Platform). It aims to create a venue for industry-academia-government co-creation towards implementing well-being in the AI era, in line with Okayama University's J-PEAKS vision of becoming a "research university that co-creates the future of the region and the planet and contributes to global innovation."
