Eight faculty members and students from our university participated to call for compliance with bicycle traffic manners.

This activity is held three times a year under the auspices of the Okayama City Kyoyama District ESD/SDGs Promotion Council through the collaboration of various organizations, and is one of the initiatives to realize 'Bicycle Advanced City Okayama'.

Starting at 8:00 AM, we distributed flyers on 'Safe Use of Bicycles' and 'Bicycle Blue Ticket (enforced on April 1, 2026)'. We provided guidance to comply with traffic rules, such as not wearing earphones, not riding with an umbrella, and not ignoring traffic signals. We also called for wearing helmets and double-locking bicycles to prevent theft.

Many bicycle accidents occur in Okayama Prefecture, and further compliance with traffic rules is required. In particular, the area from the Seishin-cho intersection to the Okayama University entrance intersection on National Route 53 is an area where there are many requests for traffic rule enforcement, and our university has been stationing security guards near the Okayama University entrance intersection since May 2013 to provide traffic safety guidance.

The next event is scheduled for October, and we will continue to call for the improvement of bicycle traffic manners.
