[Okayama University] Advancing Reform with 'Okayama University Love': The First 'Okayama University Konwakai' Alumni Meeting of FY2026 Held in the Kanto Region

As part of the activities of 'Okayama University Alumni,' the university-wide alumni organization, the first meeting of the 'Okayama University Konwakai' for FY2026, consisting of volunteer alumni in the Kanto region, was held on April 20, 2026, at the Okayama and Tottori prefecture antenna shop 'Tottori-Okayama Shimbashi-kan' in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The meeting is organized by the Alumni Tokyo Branch and serves as a venue for alumni from various faculties to gather and exchange information. This first meeting of the year was attended by 28 alumni from various faculties and graduate schools, along with Keiichi Konaga, Chairman of the Alumni Association, and President Tomohiro Nasu, who traveled from Okayama. Under the moderation of secretary Nobushiro Hasegawa, an attorney, the meeting began with an update on the university's recent status by Norihiro Sato, Vice Executive Director and Vice President, based on the public relations magazine 'Icho Namiki,' and an introduction to the university's newly re-established Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategy (MVVS). President Nasu expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support and spent significant time explaining the 'Policy Proposal for Tuition Optimization for Students Entering in FY2027,' which was announced at the regular press conference in March. Participants expressed their expectations for the university's ongoing reforms and emphasized the importance of managing risks to establish the university's position as a core regional research university capable of competing globally. Following reports and active discussions among participants, Chairman Konaga concluded by encouraging the university's efforts under President Nasu's leadership, pledging the alumni association's full support. The meeting is open to all alumni regardless of their faculty or graduate school. The next meeting is scheduled for September 17 (Thursday) at 18:30 in Tokyo. Additionally, the 'FY2026 Okayama University Alumni Tokyo Branch General Meeting' will be held on July 11 (Saturday) from 13:00 to 15:00 at TKP Garden City PREMIUM Kyobashi.
