EK JAPAN CO., LTD. (Location: 2-19-30 Tofuro-minami, Dazaifu, Fukuoka; Representative: Noriyuki Morishita), which plans, manufactures, and sells the electronics kit 'Elekit,' is starting recruitment for certified instructors, 'Elekit Sensei,' to expand the experience of creating, learning, and enjoying through Elekit.

This initiative aims to expand opportunities for hands-on learning that nurtures children's curiosity in local communities.

Background

Against the backdrop of mandatory programming education in elementary schools, interest in STEAM education, which fosters the 'ability to think, try, and learn independently,' is growing. However, opportunities for hands-on learning and the personnel to support it are still insufficient.

What is an Elekit Sensei (Certified Instructor)?

The term 'STEAM education' might sound a bit difficult on its own.

Therefore, we have named our certified instructors 'Elekit Sensei,' to act as guides who draw out children's curiosity.

The role of a sensei is not to teach the correct answer.

It is to think together, 'Why isn't it working?'

To rejoice together at the flash of insight, 'It works if you do this!'

And to be a companion who stays close to the children's desire to 'know more!'

We want to foster children's potential—

We hope to expand learning opportunities together with those who resonate with this sentiment.

Even without specialized knowledge, you can learn from the basics through training and become active as a certified instructor.

Elekit Sensei Initiatives

Elekit Sensei have already begun activities on a trial basis, with people from diverse backgrounds, such as office workers and craft enthusiasts, starting to get involved.

Activities on weekends and in spare time are also possible, and various ways of involvement tailored to individual lifestyles are being explored.

The Value of Being an Elekit Sensei

- Get involved in the education/crafting field from scratch - Directly experience a child's growth - Contribute your own knowledge and skills to society - Potential as a side job or local activity

Real Voices of Elekit Sensei

- 'I was anxious at first, but seeing the children's joy as they operated their completed robots gave me a great sense of fulfillment.' - 'Apart from my main job, I was able to experience teaching in a field I love, which broadened my horizons.' - 'I can't forget the look on the children's faces the moment they figured out how to make it work themselves.' - 'It felt less like teaching and more like discovering things together, which was a fresh experience.'
