Gooday Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City; Representative: Takashi Yanase), which operates 67 home centers "Gooday" in Northern Kyushu, Yamaguchi, and other areas, will hold 3D printer workshops at 12 Gooday stores, including 5 stores with digital craft studios, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in commemoration of surpassing 50 units in 3D printer sales.

Furthermore, the necessary filament (white) for production will go on sale at all stores starting Thursday, May 21, aiming to expand the home crafting environment.

In recent years, digitalization has advanced in the DIY and handmade fields, increasing interest in "making things oneself." Gooday began selling 3D printers last December, and cumulative sales have exceeded 50 units, indicating a growing demand for "digital crafting" in the region.

However, there are many voices saying, "I'm interested but it seems difficult," or "I don't know what I can make," highlighting the challenge that people "want to try but can't take the first step."

The purpose of this workshop is to alleviate such anxieties and allow participants to experience "crafting that anyone can do."

Participants will actually operate a 3D printer and output a mini-figure. Starting from setting the material, they can experience firsthand how pressing a button gradually shapes the object. The moment data becomes three-dimensional is intuitively easy to understand, leading to the realization that "I can do this at home."

Moreover, the content is accessible without specialized knowledge, making it a suitable program for "parent-child participation" where children and guardians experience it together. Beyond adults, it is also expected to have educational value in fostering creativity and inquisitiveness as an opportunity to interact with digital crafting.

Additionally, 3D printer filament (white)* will go on sale at all stores starting May 21. This creates an environment where the workshop experience can be continued at home, supporting "continued use" rather than just "trying and ending."

*Filament refers to a thin, string-like thermoplastic resin. A 3D object is created by melting the filament with heat and stacking it in layers.

In addition, a spot sale event with initial setup and usage training included is also being held for those considering purchasing the main unit. This builds a system where the entire process from experience → understanding → purchase → continuation can be completed at the store.

[3D Printer Output Experience Workshop]

"It seems difficult, but I can do this" – a 1-hour experience

We will hold a 3D printer experience workshop where even beginners can participate with peace of mind.

The experience is "making mini-figures."

Participants will choose their favorite figure from pre-prepared designs and actually operate the printer from setting the material to starting the output. They will witness the object gradually taking shape before their eyes. The surprise of "data becoming three-dimensional" and the realization that "I can do this myself" can be experienced on the spot.

No specialized knowledge or difficult operations are required whatsoever. It's content that even first-timers will find "surprisingly easy."
