Limited-capacity, no-luggage-required local experience 'Kimono Trip in Yuasa – Wagashi Making and Heritage District Walk' to be held on July 5 and 12
Aridamits, a regional revitalization team in the Arita area of Wakayama Prefecture, is collaborating with Nippon Colorful Style to host an experiential event combining kimono rental, town walking, and wagashi making titled 'Kimono Trip in Yuasa – Wagashi Making and Heritage District Walk'. The event will be held on a limited basis on Sunday, July 5 and 12, 2026.
This is a 'small journey' program designed to allow participants to slowly enjoy the historic streetscape of Yuasa, known as the birthplace of Japanese soy sauce brewing, and the citrus of Arita, all while dressed in kimono. Kimono rental, dressing, wagashi making, drinks, and souvenirs are all included, enabling participants from within and outside the prefecture to join without bringing anything.

Event Highlights
1. Kimono Rental & Professional Dressing – 'No-Luggage Participation OK'
Participants can choose their favorite kimono from a colorful selection, and professionals will carefully dress each person. This allows even those without a kimono or those hesitant about attending alone to join with peace of mind.
2. Summer Wagashi Making Using Arita Citrus
The first activity is a hands-on experience making 'kuzukiri' served with Arita citrus. A refreshing summer treat combining the cool texture of kuzukiri with the bright citrus aroma. The special flavor can only be appreciated when made by your own hands.
3. Strolling the Heritage District in Kimono
The central area of Yuasa Town, known as the birthplace of soy sauce brewing, has been designated as the 'Yuasa Town Traditional Building Preservation District'. The area features a charming townscape with historic merchant houses and storehouses still preserved today. Walking through the alleys in kimono gives the feeling of traveling back in time. Enjoy freely taking photos or visiting shops that catch your eye.
4. A Summer Break with Kuzukiri & Grapes and Sansho Pepper Iced Coffee
After the town walk, cool down with the kuzukiri you made yourself and a cold iced coffee subtly infused with the aroma of grapes and sansho pepper. Share impressions with fellow participants, exchange travel memories, and savor the relaxed, flowing time of Yuasa.
