Girl with Regret of Not Seeing Her Mother Off Becomes a Lawyer

Educational Support Global Foundation (BEYOND Tomorrow) provides scholarships and leadership education to youth from diverse backgrounds, including foster care, single-parent, and disaster-affected families, to break the negative chain of inequality. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, it will hold 'BEYOND Tomorrow Homecoming Day 2026' on June 13, 2026, at Bank of America Nihonbashi Office 6F. The event features a story from Kaori Shimizu, a BEYOND Tomorrow graduate. Losing her mother at a young age and her father later, she joined the program in high school. With support and scholarships, she passed the bar exam and started her career as a lawyer in April 2026. A survey of 176 scholars (2011-2021) showed 92.1% improved communication skills, 71.1% gained goal-achievement abilities, and 94.7% learned to solve problems through alternative methods. Over 15 years, the foundation has produced over 270 annual scholars and provided programs to about 800 youth, empowering them to become active contributors to society. The event includes panel discussions and graduate presentations.
