For the first time in the Kansai region, the forum will be held under the overall theme 'Strengthening Local Resilience to Planetary Crises: Scaling up Synergistic Solutions.' The plenary session (hybrid) will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Lassy Hall in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, and thematic sessions (online) will be held from August to October 2026.

The 'triple crisis' of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, compounded by rising global tensions, makes achieving sustainability increasingly difficult.
