The public interest incorporated association 'Hope & Wish' (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Riki Osumi) held its first 'Wish Vacation @ Nagano/Karuizawa 2026' from May 15 (Fri) to 17 (Sun), 2026. This program, which provides accommodation, experiences, and meals free of charge to children with intractable diseases and their families, was conducted in collaboration with the 'Karuizawa Sports Festival 2026.' The event was made possible through the continuous support of Kaname Nagayama, Representative of OBI HOLDINGS and advisor to the association. On May 15, three families arrived at JR Karuizawa Station and were warmly welcomed by OBI HOLDINGS staff who traveled from Singapore and South Korea. During the welcome party, they enjoyed a BBQ with local Shinshu ingredients, and children participated in a workshop to make keychains. The evening concluded with a surprise birthday cake for Shu Sato, creating a sense of unity. On the second day, the families visited 'Karuizawa Garden Farm' for strawberry picking and enjoyed sports at the Karuizawa Kazakoshi Park Gymnasium. Representative Osumi spoke about the mission of 'connecting families with society,' while Mr. Nagayama pledged continued support. On the final day, they participated in the 'Karuizawa Sports Festival 2026,' enjoying tennis and snag golf under the clear sky. The event concluded with an exchange of messages and medals, leaving everyone with a sense of deep connection. Representative Osumi remarked, 'Through the lives of these families, we want to share the essence of living with society.'
