Sumitomo Electric Information Systems Co., Ltd. will begin offering the MCP (Model Context Protocol) *1 server for its enterprise search product, QuickSolution® (Quick Solution), from August 2026. This will enable cross-searching of internal company information distributed across on-premises and cloud environments from AI agents such as Microsoft 365 Copilot (hereinafter referred to as Copilot). It will easily and securely expand the range of information that AI agents can reference while keeping existing internal knowledge assets in their current storage locations, contributing to the realization of an enterprise-wide knowledge utilization platform.
QuickSolution®, which has achieved the number one market share in four market surveys*2, is a purely domestic enterprise search system that celebrates its 25th anniversary. It supports a full range of up to several hundred terabytes (TB) and can search across information scattered across file servers, various internal systems, and cloud services, including the content of documents. Furthermore, scanned image PDFs can also be easily found with image OCR search.
In recent years, the use of AI agents in business has rapidly advanced. However, the information that AI agents can reference is limited, posing a challenge in fully leveraging important knowledge distributed within companies. The QuickSolution® MCP server addresses these challenges by making the highly accurate knowledge utilization platform, cultivated through enterprise search, available to AI agents. In addition to Copilot, it can be used with MCP-compatible AI agents such as Gemini Spark, OpenAI Codex, and Claude Cowork.
Cross-search internal information distributed across on-premises/cloud from AI agents with MCP support
With MCP support, a wide range of internal information spanning on-premises and cloud environments can be searched and utilized from AI agents using natural language. QuickSolution® supports diverse information sources such as file servers, websites, ArcSuite, various internal systems, Box, and Cybozu Garoon. Therefore, users can access the information they need without being conscious of the information's storage location or system differences. For example, while Copilot normally references information within Microsoft 365, by using this feature, it can perform a comprehensive cross-search including a wider range of other internal information to generate responses. QuickSolution® handles high-accuracy internal information search, while AI agents handle integration with other systems and additional analysis/processing, enabling more flexible and advanced business utilization.
High-accuracy search available directly from AI agents
QuickSolution® has pursued the search accuracy required for enterprise search for over 25 years. It is equipped with advanced search functions such as full-text search, vector search*3, consolidated display of similar documents, and comprehensive score ranking*4. These original search functions of the product can be used directly from AI agents.
In particular, it can support partial matching searches for model numbers and part numbers, which are important in manufacturing industries. For example, if a manufacturing representative asks, "Based on the reports in the file server, please tell me the main defects of the ABC-1000 series," the system will accurately search, including partial matches of model numbers, and the AI agent will summarize and organize the content to provide an answer. When referencing internal information, it is possible to accurately reach the necessary information while suppressing search omissions and duplicates.
No data upload required, use existing internal information as is with AI
No data upload is required; existing storage locations can be used as search targets as they are. There is no need to change the operational rules for document creation and updates. Even if the number of AI agents increases or they are replaced in the future, the search mechanism can be used without needing to be rebuilt each time. It provides a search platform that allows AI agents to reference internal company information without hassle.
Inherits user's viewing permissions for safe reference of internal information
QuickSolution® searches by inheriting the viewing permissions set for file servers and cloud services. The internal information referenced by AI agents will be limited to documents for which the user has permission, ensuring safe usage. Since existing viewing management can be utilized as is, information governance and security can be maintained even when using AI.
Through these features, QuickSolution® maximizes the potential value of internal company information and further promotes operational efficiency, knowledge utilization, and DX.
In the enterprise search market, which is expected to see increasing demand in the era of AI agents, QuickSolution® will continue to develop products that anticipate the needs of the times with the keyword "Reform the 'Way of Searching' with AI!"
